And I will set thy bounds from the Red sea even unto the sea of the Philistines, and from the desert unto the river: for I will deliver the inhabitants of the land into your hand; and thou shalt drive them out before thee.

Interpretation

It is here promised that they should be guided and kept in their way through the wilderness to the land of promise, Behold, I send an angel before you, mine angel. The precept joined with this promise is, that they be obedient to this angel whom God would send before them.
