Interpretation

Balak was angry with Balaam. Thus a confession of God's overruling power is extorted from a wicked prophet, to the confusion of a wicked prince.

Zophim Place: Field of watchers, a place in Moab on the range of Pisgah ( Num. 23:14 ). To this place Balak brought Balaam, that he might from thence curse the children of Israel. Modern identification: Tila as Safa.
