Interpretation
By mixing the Levites with the other tribes, they were made to see that the eyes of all Israel were upon them, and therefore it was their concern to walk so that their ministry might not be blamed. Every tribe had its share of Levites' cities.

- Dunghill, a city of Zebulun given to the Merarite Levites ( Josh. 21:35 ). In 1 Chr. 6:77 the name “Rimmon” is substituted. Modern identification: Rumana.
- Nahalal Place
- Pasture, a city in Zebulun on the border of Issachar ( Josh. 19:15 ), the same as Nahalol ( Judg. 1:30 ). It was given to the Levites. Modern identification: Horbat Sefan.
