Jordan Place
Biblical river. Modern identification: Jordan River.
Baal-gad Place
Biblical settlement. Modern identification: Tell Haush.
Joshua Tribe
Jehovah is his help, or Jehovah the Saviour. The son of Nun, of the tribe of Ephraim, the successor of Moses as the leader of Israel. He is called Jehoshua in Num. 13:16 (A. V. ), and Jesus in Acts 7:45 and Heb. 4:8 .
Mount Halak Place
Smooth; bald, a hill at the southern extremity of Canaan ( Josh. 11:17 ). It is referred to as if it were a landmark in that direction, being prominent and conspicuous from a distance. Modern identification: Jebel Halaq.
Mount Seir Place
Biblical mountain range. Modern identification: Jebel esh Shera.
Valley of Lebanon Place
Biblical valley. Modern identification: Beqaa Valley.
