- John Person
- (1. ) One who, with Annas and Caiaphas, sat in judgment on the apostles Peter and John ( Acts 4:6 ). He was of the kindred of the high priest; otherwise unknown. (2. ) The Hebrew name of Mark (q. v. ).
- Bethany Place
- House of the ford, a place on the east bank of the Jordan, where John was baptizing ( John 1:28 ). It may be identical with Bethbarah, the ancient ford of Jordan of which the men of Ephraim took possession ( Judg. 7:24 ). Modern identification: Al Maghtas.
- Jordan Place
- Biblical river. Modern identification: Jordan River.
