Interpretation

The best reformers can but do their endeavour; when the Redeemer himself shall come to Zion, he shall effectually turn away ungodliness from Jacob. And when sin is repented of and forsaken, God will forgive it; but the blood of Christ, our Sin-offering, is the only atonement which takes away our guilt.

Glossary

Benjamin Person: Son of my right hand. (1. ) The younger son of Jacob by Rachel ( Gen. 35:18 ). His birth took place at Ephrath, on the road between Bethel and Bethlehem, at a short distance from the latter place.
Malluch Person: Reigned over, or reigning. (1. ) A Levite of the family of Merari ( 1 Chr. 6:44 ). (2. ) A priest who returned from Babylon ( Neh. 12:2 ). (3. ) Ezra 10:29 . (4. ) Ezra 10:32 .
