These be the words which Moses spake unto all Israel on this side Jordan in the wilderness, in the plain over against the Red sea, between Paran, and Tophel, and Laban, and Hazeroth, and Dizahab.

Arabah Place
A name given to Abi-albon, or, as elsewhere called, Abiel, one of David’s warriors ( 2 Sam. 23:31 ; 1 Chr. 11:32 ), probably as being an inhabitant of Arabah ( Josh. 15:61 ), a town in the wilderness of Judah.
Dizahab Place
Region of gold, a place in the desert of Sinai, on the western shore of the Elanitic gulf ( Deut. 1:1 ). It is now called Dehab. Modern identification: Ad Duhaybah.
Hazeroth Place
Biblical settlement. Modern identification: Ain el Khadra.
Jordan Place
Biblical river. Modern identification: Jordan River.
Laban Place
Biblical campsite. Modern identification: Tel Abu Seleimeh.
Paran Place
Abounding in foliage, or abounding in caverns, ( Gen. 21:21 ), a desert tract forming the north-eastern division of the peninsula of Sinai, lying between the ‘Arabah on the east and the wilderness of Shur on the west. Modern identification: Paran.
Suph Place
( Deut. 1:1 , R. V.; marg., “some ancient versions have the Red Sea,” as in the A. V. ). Some identify it with Suphah ( Num. 21:14 , marg., A. V. ) as probably the name of a place. Modern identification: Gulf of Aqaba.
Tophel Place
Lime, a place in the wilderness of Sinai ( Deut. 1:1 ), now identified with Tafyleh or Tufileh, on the west side of the Edomitish mountains. Modern identification: Tafila.
