Interpretation
Paul had differed with Barnabas, on the account of this Mark, yet he is not only reconciled, but recommends him to the churches; an example of a truly Christian and forgiving spirit. If men have been guilty of a fault, it must not always be remembered against them.

- Hierapolis Place
- Sacred city, a city of Phrygia, where was a Christian church under the care of Epaphras ( Col. 4:12 , 13). This church was founded at the same time as that of Colosse. It now bears the name of Pambuk-Kalek, i. e. Modern identification: Hierapolis.

- Biblical settlement. Modern identification: Laodicea on the Lycus.
