- Beloved, the eighth and youngest son of Jesse, a citizen of Bethlehem. His father seems to have been a man in humble life. His mother’s name is not recorded. Some think she was the Nahash of 2 Sam. 17:25 .
- Uzzah Person
- Strength, a son of Abinadab, in whose house the men of Kirjath-jearim placed the ark when it was brought back from the land of the Philistines ( 1 Sam. 7:1 ).
- Perez-uzzah Place
- The breach of Uzzah, a place where God “burst forth upon Uzzah, so that he died,” when he rashly “took hold” of the ark ( 2 Sam. 6:6-8 ). It was not far from Kirjath-jearim (q. v. ). Modern identification: Jerusalem.
