What does the Bible say about peace?
Peace in the Bible is richer than calm mood. It can mean wholeness, reconciliation, blessing, order, and settled trust under God. The prophets and apostles both speak of peace, but never as a denial of truth or judgment.
These verses help when you are looking for comfort, inner peace, or a biblical account of peace in Christ. Read them together and peace becomes something received from God and practiced among people.

Jesus gives peace in a form distinct from what the world gives. Would we know these things for our good, we must pray for, and depend on the teaching of the Holy Ghost; thus the words of Jesus will be brought to our remembrance, and many difficulties be cleared up which are not plain to others.

God’s peace is described as guarding heart and mind. Let believers be of one mind, and ready to help each other. As the apostle had found the benefit of their assistance, he knew how comfortable it would be to his fellow-labourers to have the help of others.
"Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee."
Peace is linked to a mind stayed on God. "That day," seems to mean when the New Testament Babylon shall be levelled with the ground. The unchangeable promise and covenant of the Lord are the walls of the church of God.
"Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ:"
Peace with God is explicitly tied to justification by faith. A blessed change takes place in the sinner's state, when he becomes a true believer, whatever he has been. Being justified by faith he has peace with God.
"And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to the which also ye are called in one body; and be ye thankful."
Peace is meant to rule inside the body of Christ. We must not only do no hurt to any, but do what good we can to all. Those who are the elect of God, holy and beloved, ought to be lowly and compassionate towards all.
"The LORD will give strength unto his people; the LORD will bless his people with peace."
Peace is spoken of as a gift the Lord gives his people. This verse speaks in the wider setting of prayer and praise as Psalms unfolds its message.
